The UAE is being affected by an extension of a low-pressure system from the surface, accompanied by an extension of a weak low-pressure system in the upper layers of the atmosphere, which has resulted in falling of light rains in different areas, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
According to a statement by the NCM, light rains fell on Ramah in Al Ain, Bada Da'afas, Tarif, Al Ghweifat, and Al Ruwais in Al Dhafra region, as well as Al Batin, Bani Yas, Khalifa City, Al Shamkha, Abu Dhabi International Airport, Dubai-Al Ain Road, Al Ain International Airport, Jebel Ali, Dubai International Airport, Das Island, Dainah Island, Sir Bu Nair Island, Qarnayn Island, Al Talah, Al Rahmaniyah, and Al-Dhaid.
The NCM indicated that the sea areas were exposed Tuesday until Wednesday morning to the blowing of strong northwesterly winds, with speeds amounting to 40 kilometres/h, so the sea will be rough at times in the Arabian Gulf, with the wave height reaching 6 feet at times.
Sources also predicted the possibility of light rains on some inland, coastal, and island areas on Wednesday and Thursday, where the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, especially in the north, with a chance of light rains, and will be humid at night and on Thursday morning in some inland areas with a chance of light fog formation.
Winds, according to the NCM, will be northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate in speed, and active at times, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 kilometres/h, amounting to 35 kilometres/h, and the sea will be moderate to light in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Sea of Oman.
Thursday weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times with a chance of light rains on some coastal areas and islands, with a gradual rise in temperatures and will be humid at night and on Friday morning in some coastal and inland areas. Winds will be northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, which will range from 10 to 20 kilometres/h amounting to 30 kilometres/h and the sea will be light in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, the NCM reported.
