His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday crowned Ahmed Zenoun as the top hope maker in the Arab world. He also honoured Samar Nadeem and Khadija Al Qarti.
Sheikh Mohammed did so during the closing ceremony of the 5th edition of the largest initiative of its kind in the Arab world held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, where the winner received a cash prize of Dhs1 million.
The closing ceremony showcased inspiring humanitarian stories of a number of hope makers in the Arab world, who dedicated their efforts and resources to serving their communities by implementing innovative initiatives and projects that contributed to improving people’s lives and establishing a culture of giving and social solidarity. The event was attended by a large number of stars, artists, intellectuals, media personalities and social media celebrities in the Arab world in addition to a group of well-known figures in charitable and humanitarian work in the UAE.
The jury of the Hope Makers initiative, which includes a group of experts and specialists, selected the finalists based on the positive impact achieved by the owners of these initiatives in their communities.
The committee evaluated each nomination according to specific criteria that included the topic of the initiative and the challenges associated with it, its role in creating real and tangible change, and its ability to reach the target segment.
