Sharjah Asset Management Company, the investment arm of the Sharjah Government, has launched a pilot service for the first digital taxi booking service for the emirate, through Yango application, in collaboration with the global technology company "Yango Group."
Walid Al Sayegh, the company's CEO, stated, "We always strive to achieve fruitful partnerships which drive sustainable development in the emirate through strategic investments and innovative projects that support diversity and economic growth."
Khalid Al Kendi, the General Manager of “Sharjah Taxi,” said, "The pilot application will begin with Sharjah Taxi vehicles, operating 500 vehicles in the testing phase across the emirate starting Tuesday.
"This step will enable customers to know the details of their journey accurately through the application and provide feedback and ratings for the vehicle and driver simultaneously.
"For the taxi operator, the application will enable vehicles to move based on direct requests from customers, reducing random roaming in busy streets, lowering pollution levels, and reducing vehicle breakdowns, which contributes to extending their operational lifespan."
Yango application is available for free on Android and iOS systems in multiple languages, including Arabic and English. When the location is determined, the application connects passengers in real-time and efficiently with the nearest available taxi, ensuring a quick and comfortable experience.
