In a truly inspiring display of solidarity, a vibrant congregation of fasting individuals from diverse nationalities came together at the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi to observe the breaking of their fast during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The surrounding yards were beautifully adorned with extended tables, creating an atmosphere of faith and spirituality amidst the majestic beauty of the mosque and the surrounding gardens.
Since the first day of Ramadan, thousands of fasting people have flocked to the mosque before sunset to eat Iftar, creating a vibrant atmosphere of community and togetherness.
Gulf Today camera has been monitoring the numbers of people arriving at the Iftar tables in the surrounding areas of the mosque, with teams trained to receive the fasting people and organise their seating. Each meal for the fasting person includes water, milk, and dates, in addition to food boxes containing ready-made meals to provide comfort for the fasting people.
The management of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre has been working tirelessly to ensure that everything is ready for the month of Ramadan.
They have made some really exciting preparations, including providing 70 electric cars to transport fasting people from the car parks to the Iftar areas. Volunteer teams are working tirelessly to create an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility for worshippers and visitors who flock to the mosque in large numbers during this holy month.
And the Iftar meals are just amazing – more than 35,000 are prepared daily inside the mosque and its yards, with more than 45,000 meals distributed daily to beneficiaries from different nationalities and cultures. In an effort to facilitate access for worshippers, all entrances to the mosque have been opened, with pedestrian entrances being allocated to ensure their safety and ease of access.
This initiative is a clear reflection of Islamic values, promoting cooperation and solidarity among community members. It is a key contributor to creating an environment of harmony and compassion during Ramadan, with the mosque strengthening social ties and encouraging participation in charitable activities.
The Ramadan project at Sheikh Zayed Mosque is of significant importance in terms of its dedication to success and the harnessing of energies and capabilities. At the conclusion of the holy month, the preparations for the subsequent season commence, undertaking continuous upgrading and development in pursuit of enhancing the services and events provided for those fasting and visitors.
