Sharjah Press Club (SPC), affiliated with the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), has announced its agenda for the 14th edition of its annual Ramadan Majlis, scheduled to take place from March 10 to 17 at Aljada in Sharjah.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, the event will bring together experts and public figures to explore topics spanning culture, human behaviour, parenting, and social values.
This year’s programme features four main sessions focusing on social relationships, literature, personal values, and family life. The opening session, “Healthy Interactions and Relationships,” on March 10, will feature Dr. Ahmed Emara, a consultant in mental health, discussing strategies for fostering strong and positive relationships. The session will be moderated by media professional Ahmed Alyammahi.
On March 12, poet and writer Hamoud Al Sahoud will lead a discussion on “Culture and Heritage in Arabic Literature.” Moderated by Saudi journalist Ali Al Alyani, the session will examine how Arabic literature has preserved cultural identity across generations.
The third session, “Human Behaviour: Values and Beliefs,” set for March 13, will explore the role of personal and societal values in shaping human interactions. Dr. Khalid Ghattas, a writer and social media content creator, will be the featured speaker, with TV host Reem Saif moderating the discussion.
The Majlis will conclude on March 17 with “Family and Raising Future Generations,” featuring renowned Islamic preacher Mostafa Hosny.
He will highlight the crucial role of family in instilling strong moral and ethical values in children. Media professional Abdulraouf Amira will moderate the session.
In addition to the main sessions, the Majlis will present four side sessions covering topics such as automobiles, digital content, entrepreneurship, and organic farming.
The first side session, “German or Japanese? How to Choose Your Car,” on March 10, will delve into the automotive industry. Experts from ArabGT will compare leading car brands, offering insights for consumers looking to make informed purchasing decisions.
Social media’s impact on reading habits will take centre stage on March 12 with “When Digital Content Leads You to Books.” Content creator Fares Ashour will explore how online platforms are influencing readership trends.
The spotlight will shift on March 13, to business and entrepreneurship. Adnan Safar, founder of the ‘Mara’ brand, will share insights on building a successful business, navigating brand growth challenges, and implementing key marketing strategies.
Sustainability will headline the final side session on March 17, as Saeed Al Rumaithi, the UAE’s youngest organic farm owner, discusses sustainable agriculture and how natural farming methods contribute to healthier food production.
The Ramadan Majlis has established itself as a significant platform for dialogue, fostering engaging discussions on pressing societal issues. Alongside thought-provoking sessions, attendees can participate in interactive activities and competitions, making the event an enriching experience for all. Late last year, Sharjah wrapped up its participation in the third Global Media Congress (GMC) session on a strong note with more than 20 insightful discussion sessions and training workshops organised by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and Sharjah Media City (Shams), over three days.
Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, visited the Sharjah pavilion on Thursday and was briefed on the various initiatives that embody the emirate’s strong media profile and identity.
Dr Al Jaber was pleased to learn about the Smart Media Platform of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, which streamlines the media work and activities of all Sharjah government institutions.
The platform offers digital services that embrace the latest global technological advances in order to support government media professionals in the emirate and simplify their work procedures.
