UAE Fatwa Council has determined the amounts for Zakat Al Fitr and various expiations (kaffarah) for the year 2025.
The Council has set the amount for Zakat Al Fitr at 2.5 kilogrammes of rice per person, with a value of Dhs25, which one individual or more can benefit from.
The Council also specified the amounts for different expiations as follows: the Kaffarah for breaking a fast during Ramadan is 3.25 kilogrammes of wheat per poor person, with a value of Dhs15, totaling Dhs900, from which 60 poor individuals can benefit.
Fidyah (compensation) for those unable to fast is 3.25 kilogrammes of wheat per day, with a value of Dhs15, from which one poor person can benefit.
Kaffarah for a deceased person who has missed obligatory fasts is 3.25 kilogrammes of wheat per day, with a value of Dhs15, from which one poor person can benefit.
Kaffarah for delaying making up missed fasts without an excuse is 3.25 kilogrammes of wheat, with a value of Dhs15, from which one poor person can benefit.
Kaffarah for breaking an oath is 3.25 kilogrammes of wheat per poor person, with a value of Dhs15, totaling Dhs150, from which 10 poor individuals can benefit .
Kaffarah for Zihar (a form of divorce) is 3.25 kilogrammes of wheat per poor person, with a value of Dhs15, totaling Dhs900, from which 60 poor individuals can benefit.
Fidyah for committing a prohibited act which does not invalidate the pilgrimage is 3.25 kilogrammes of wheat per poor person, with a value of Dhs15, totaling Dhs90, from which 6 poor individuals can benefit.
The Council emphasises that these amounts should be distributed to the poor and needy, ensuring that they receive the necessary support and assistance.
