Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has closed down Freme Trading facility in Al Shahama area of Abu Dhabi city, which holds the commercial licence number (CN-3650648), for violating the Food Law No. 2 of 2008 in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and its related regulations, as well as for posing a risk to public health.
The ADFCA explained that the Food Control report stated that the administrative closure decision against the facility was a result of its non-compliance with food safety requirements due to the repetition of high-risk practices which have a direct impact on food safety.
The facility's failure to take effective corrective actions to rectify these violations, which affects food safety and consumer health, also contributed to the decision, ADFCA said, adding that three previous violations were issued against the facility, and a warning of administrative closure was given due to the monitoring of several high-risk violations related to the spread of insects in the facility, in addition to other items related to poor hygiene and storage.
The administrative closure order will remain in effect as long as the reasons for it are still there, ADFCA indicated, adding that the facility can resume its activities once it corrects its situation, meets all the necessary requirements for conducting the activity, and removes the causes of the violation.
The ADFCA urged the public to communicate with them and report any violations observed in any food facility or if they suspect the contents of a food item by calling the toll-free number for the Government of Abu Dhabi at 800555.
