As part of the "Combat Begging" campaign launched during the Holy Month of Ramadan, Dubai Police arrested 375 street vendors in the first half of the Holy Month who were selling food items and counterfeit goods on public roads.
Lieutenant Colonel Taleb Al Ameri, Head of the Street Vendors Combating Section in the Department of Suspects and Criminal Phenomena at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, called on the public not to buy from street vendors or unlicensed vehicles parked on public roads.
He highlighted the risks associated with these sources, as they are unlicensed and violate health requirements and food safety standards, exposing consumers to serious health risks.
Al Ameri stated that Dubai Police continue to arrest violators around the clock as part of its Ramadan campaign in collaboration with partners.
He emphasised the importance of not dealing with street vendors and reporting such violations by calling 901 or using the "Police Eye" service on the Dubai Police app.
