Heart of Sharjah, the historical and heritage destination under the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), has concluded its special Ramadan programme, which ran throughout the holy month.
The programme featured a rich cultural itinerary designed to introduce visitors and guests from around the world to local customs and traditions during Ramadan, and to showcase the essence and atmosphere of the holy month within the Heart of Sharjah — surrounded by its museums, traditional houses, and souqs.
The Ramadan tours included hosting visitors for a traditional Emirati Iftar, a visit to Al Jama’a Mosque — an important historical landmark in the Heart of Sharjah— where guests also had the opportunity to distribute food items around, reflecting the spirit of giving and kindness that lies at the heart of Ramadan.
The tours continued with a guided walk through the city’s vibrant traditional souqs, which are Souq Al Arsa, Souq Al Shanasiyah, and Souq Saqr, as well as a stop at Al Bareed Café, where guests enjoyed having a cup of coffee before embarking on a serene boat ride through the Heart of Sharjah.

The souqs were beautifully decorated with Ramadan lights, around traditional products such as handwoven baskets, Arabic coffee, and dates, creating a unique atmosphere full of warmth and spirituality.
The Ramadan tours aimed to revive heritage, celebrate cultural identity, and strengthen community bonds — capturing the true meaning of Ramadan in a destination that carries the fragrance of history and the depth of authenticity.
