Saudi Arabia condemned on Wednesday a visit by far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, lambasting him for "storming" the area.
Riyadh voiced its "strongest condemnation of the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli National Security Minister under the protection of occupation police," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
It reiterated its condemnation of the continuing blatant attacks on the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying in a statement that the Kingdom condemned the Israeli forces' targeting of a clinic affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, denouncing the continued targeting of UN and relief organizations and their staff by Israeli forces.
The Ministry stated: "The Kingdom condemns these ongoing Israeli violations of international law and international humanitarian law, and affirms its categorical rejection of anything that would undermine the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its holy sites. It emphasizes the need to protect UN and relief organizations and their staff, calling on the international community to put an end to the Israeli war machine, which disregards any humanitarian values, international laws, or norms, and to hold the Israeli authorities accountable for all its violations."
Saudi Arabia reiterated its warning that the international community's failure to deter such serious and ongoing violations will diminish the chances of achieving the desired peace, contribute to the decline in the credibility and legitimacy of international law, and negatively impact regional and international security and stability.
