The Marine Rescue Department at the Ports Police Station recovered a valuable necklace that fell from a tourist into the waters of Hatta Dam.
According to Colonel Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, Acting Director of Ports Police Station, the Command and Control Centre at the General Department of Operations received a report from a tourist in Hatta stating that a valuable necklace had fallen into the waters of the Hatta Dam.
The marine rescue personnel rushed to the area and began searching for it until they found it and returned it to the tourist.
Al Naqbi emphasised that marine rescue deals with accidents, disasters, and drowning incidents involving people, vehicles and vessels and provides assistance to seafarers, among other tasks.
“Its duties do not include searching for any type of belongings in the water, but out of our keenness to please the public, we respond to their calls and volunteer to provide assistance with pleasure.” He added, urging the public not to carry their valuables while engaging in water activities.
Meanwhile, the tourist expressed his appreciation to Dubai Police for their prompt response to his report, their eagerness to please him by helping him recover his valuable necklace, and their way of handling his report with utmost seriousness and care
