Al Ain Court of First Instance ordered a woman to pay Dhs30,000 to a man after she threatened him via WhatsApp messages, causing him psychological and material damages.
In the case details, a man filed a lawsuit against a woman, demanding she compensate him with Dhs300,000 for the damages he incurred, along with a 12% interest from the date of the legal claim until full payment.
He also requested to obligate her to pay the court fees and expenses, and attorney’s fees.
The plaintiff stated that the appellee was convicted for this act under a criminal judgment, adding that he suffered psychologically and materially, prompting him to file the lawsuit.
He submitted evidence, including a copy of the criminal judgment, a certificate from the Public Prosecution confirming the judgment was not appealed, a screenshot of the WhatsApp conversation, and other relevant documents.
The court, in its ruling, stated that the documents clearly show the appellee’s conviction in the criminal case for threatening the plaintiff and invading his privacy, which caused him harm.
Based on the circumstances of the case, the court assessed the compensation due to the plaintiff at Dhs30,000 for all moral damages he incurred.
