Dubai Health has announced the successful completion of 11 complex heart surgeries for patients across various age groups, in collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, as part of the humanitarian partnership between the two entities under the “Nabadat” initiative.
This initiative, implemented by Al Jalila Foundation - the philanthropic arm of Dubai Health - focuses on providing comprehensive medical care to individuals suffering from congenital heart defects and chronic heart diseases. The campaign aims to promote social solidarity by supporting patients who are unable to afford treatment, offering them critical heart surgeries and catheterisation procedures at Dubai Health hospitals.
Dr Amer Al Zarooni, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation, expressed his pride in the partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment through the “Nabadat” initiative and its ongoing support for cardiac surgery campaigns that aim to treat patients and help those in need. For his part, Saleh Zaher Al Mazrouei, Director General of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, said, “Inspired by our wise leadership’s vision, we dedicate resources and efforts to ensure eligible patients receive integrated medical care. ‘Nabadat’ is one of the key initiatives reflecting the UAE’s deep-rooted humanitarian values, saving the lives of many children and adults with congenital heart defects and giving them the opportunity for a better life and future.”
He noted that “Nabadat” began as a community initiative aimed at providing medical care to children with congenital heart defects and has since expanded to include adults and senior citizens who were previously unable to access treatment due to financial constraints. The initiative has succeeded in providing top-tier healthcare services through specialised medical teams.
Dr Obaid Mohammed Al Jassim, Consultant and Head of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Dubai Hospital and Medical Director of the “Nabadat” initiative, emphasised Dubai Health’s dedication to supporting such noble initiatives by utilising its expertise and medical capabilities.
