The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned against dust and reduced visibility of less than 1,000 metres due to active northwesterly winds with speeds amounting to 40 kilometres/h, from 10:00am on Tuesday, until 6:00pm.
The NCM forecasts a gradual drop in temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday, with partly cloudy and occasionally dusty weather continuing until next Saturday.
This condition is due to the impact of a surface low-pressure system from the east and a high-pressure system from the west, accompanied by a weak upper-air low-pressure extension.
Wednesday’s weather will be partly cloudy and occasionally dusty, with another temperature drop and humid during the night and on early Thursday morning in some northern coastal areas.
Winds, according to the NCM, will be northwesterly, moderate to active, occasionally strong at sea, stirring dust and reducing visibility at times, with speeds ranging from 15 to 30 kilometres/h, amounting to 50 kilometres/h and the sea will be rough to very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and light to moderate in the Sea of Oman.
Thursday’s weather will be partly cloudy and occasionally dusty and winds will be northwesterly, moderate to active, occasionally strong at sea, stirring dust, especially in the north and east, with speeds ranging from 15 to 30 kilometres/h, amounting to 50 kilometres/h. The sea will be rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf and light to moderate, occasionally roughening, in the Sea of Oman, the NCM reported.
