The first-term end-of-year exams for students of the Integrated Continuing Education programme (grades 7–12) for the academic year 2024–2025 will commence on Monday, according to schedules approved by the Ministry of Education.
For Grades 7- 8, students will start their exams on Monday, April 22, in Science while on Tuesday, April 23, they will sit for the Islamic Studies exam. On Wednesday, April 24 it will be Arabic test; on Thursday, April 25 the English test and on Monday, April 28 they will sit for the Mathematics exam. The final exams will be in Social Studies which will be held on Tuesday, April 29.
Grades 11–12 students will start on Monday, April 22 with the Physics exam, on Tuesday, April 23: the Islamic Studies exam, Wednesday, April 24: Arabic exam, Thursday, April 25: Mathematics exam, Tuesday, April 29: Social Studies, Wednesday, April 30: Grade 11: Chemistry exam); Grade 12 - Biology and Chemistry exams.
The Ministry indicated that Grade 11 exams will start at 4:00pm to 6:00pm, while Grade 12 exams will start at 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
The Ministry stressed that students must arrive at the exam hall 30 minutes before the test starts to receive their admission cards, as late entry is not permitted after 15 minutes of the exam start.
Electronic devices, mobile phones, books, and notes are prohibited in the exam hall and students must bring their original Emirates ID to enter the exam hall, the Ministry affirmed.
Exams will be conducted electronically, but students must be physically present in schools and may leave the exam hall one hour after it starts, the Ministry pointed out.
Second and third term exams are assigned to students who failed, were absent with valid excuses, or faced technical issues during the first-term exams.
Students may sit for exams in only failed subjects provided they do not remain in the same grade for more than two consecutive years.
If they fail to pass within this period, they must sit for the exams in all subjects.
The ministry clarified that minimum passing grades are 50 for second-term retakes and 60 for third-term retakes, adding that students absent from first and second-term exams without valid excuses are ineligible for retakes.
