His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced on the X platform that UAE foreign trade reached Dhs 5.23 trillion in 2024.
Sheikh Mohammed elaborated, “In a world facing major economic and trade challenges, the UAE has chosen from the outset an approach of openness, building bridges, and promoting the free movement of trade, capital, and people. This has made it a bridge between East and West and a global economic hub.
“According to the latest World Trade Organization report published a few days ago, the UAE's foreign trade volume reached Dhs 5.23 trillion in 2024, with a trade surplus exceeding Dhs 490 billion, making the country a lever for international trade.
“The UAE exported services worth Dhs 650 billion in 2024, of which Dhs 191 billion were digital services, representing 30% of total service exports.
“The UAE also exported goods worth Dhs 2.2 trillion in 2024, a 6% growth over the previous year.
“The UAE alone exports 41% of the total commodity exports in the Middle East, making it the main hub and largest trade center in the region.
“Praise be to God, our achievements will continue. With the close follow-up of my brother, the President of the State, we will preserve and strengthen our gains. By maintaining our approach of openness, trade liberalization, and bridge-building, growth and leadership will remain our ally, God willing.”
