Muslim Council of Elders mourns passing of Pope

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE ad Ruler of Dubai mourned the passing away of the Pope Francis, Head of the Vatican. Pope Francis died on Monday at age 88.
Sheikh Mohaammed Bin Rashid wrote on his X account, "We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis @Pontifex, a great leader whose compassion and commitment to peace touched countless lives. His legacy of humility and interfaith unity will continue to inspire many communities around the world."
Earlier, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of condolences to Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, on the passing of Pope Francis.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid and His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, sent similar messages of condolence to Cardinal Kevin Farrell.
The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of Dr Ahmed Al Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, together with its esteemed members and Secretary-General, Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, mourns the passing of Pope Francis.

Abdelsalam emphasised that Pope Francis devoted his life to serving humanity and advancing the values of dialogue, tolerance, coexistence, peace, and human fraternity. He also tirelessly supported the vulnerable, needy, refugees and the displaced, embodying a singular example of compassion and becoming a historic religious figure whose enduring humanitarian legacy will inspire future generations.
Grand Imam of Al Azhar mourns Pope
In partnership with Dr Al Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, Pope Francis co-authored the historic Document on Human Fraternity, widely regarded as one of the most significant documents in modern human history.
The Muslim Council of Elders extends its deepest condolences to the leaders of the Catholic Church, Christian brethren, and all advocates of peace and coexistence worldwide. "We pray that Almighty Allah grants the departed's loved ones and admirers strength, patience, and solace during this time of loss."
