Al Qasimia University in Sharjah has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, affiliated with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
This partnership aims to enhance cooperation in scientific research, Islamic studies, and humanitarian sciences.
This agreement marks a continuation of Al Qasimia University’s efforts to build an international network that supports its mission of advancing knowledge and science. It also demonstrates the university's unwavering commitment to increasing its presence in the global academic arena.
The signing ceremony took place yesterday morning at Al Qasimia University’s headquarters in Sharjah. It was attended by Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, and Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, Secretary-General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.
The MoU aims to strengthen partnerships in key areas such as scientific research and studies. Both parties have agreed to work together on producing, developing, disseminating, and applying knowledge to enrich the lives of individuals and communities. Additionally, the collaboration will involve discussing contemporary issues related to Islamic and humanitarian sciences and providing Islamic legal perspectives on current life challenges.
The memorandum also outlines plans for organising joint scientific events, including conferences, seminars, and discussion forums. The partnership will also facilitate the exchange of publications and educational resources on Islamic and humanitarian topics.
Professor Dr. Al Khalaf highlighted that this agreement aligns with Al Qasimia University’s vision of fostering intellectual communication and forging strategic partnerships with prominent academic institutions. The partnership will also strengthen the university's role in promoting a culture of moderation and balance, while addressing intellectual and legal matters in the Islamic world.
Professor Dr. Sano expressed his pride in the MoU, which he believes will expand the academy’s cooperation with Al Qasimia University. He praised the university’s leading role in supporting scientific research and developing scholars who are well-equipped to tackle the challenges of today’s world.
