During its meeting on Tuesday, Sharjah Executive Council issued a decision waiving the traffic violations in the emirate.
The decision stipulated that traffic violations recorded by the competent traffic authority at Sharjah Police would be waived if 10 years have elapsed since they were committed.
According to the decision, Sharjah Police will collect a fee of Dhs1,000 for requesting the traffic violations to be waived. The following cases, however, are exempt from the fee:
1. The owner of the vehicle is dead.
2. The owner of the vehicle has left the country for no less than 10 consecutive years.
3. The vehicle was abandoned by its owner after he could not be reached.
