SHARJAH: His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed the allocation of a plot of land in the Kshisha 1 area in Al Rahmaniya suburb to build a mosque for the inhabitants.
The directive came in response to a request made by Umm Hamad, who called Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, on the Direct Line programme.
The caller said that the existing mosque was too far from her home and that she wanted a nearby mosque so that her children could perform the Fajr prayer.
Mohammed Al Nazar, official spokesman for the Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey, said that upon receiving Sheikh Sultan’s directive, a plot of land was immediately allocated to build a mosque in the area where the caller was living.
