Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases Court ordered a woman to pay Dhs10,000 in compensation to a man she assaulted.
The man had filed a lawsuit demanding Dhs50,000 in compensation for the physical and emotional damages he incurred, along with legal fees and court expenses.
The plaintiff stated he and the woman had a relationship, but she assaulted him, causing injuries documented in a medical report and a criminal case was filed against her, and the court convicted her in absentia for assault, fining her Dhs2,000.
She allegedly objected to the ruling, and the court accepted the objection in form and rejected it in substance, upholding the original judgment. She appealed the ruling but the court dismissed the appeal.
The court clarified that the appellee’s fault was established based on the criminal judgment, which caused the plaintiff physical harm, as evidenced by the medical report, and emotional distress.
Consequently, the court ordered the woman to pay the plaintiff Dhs10,000 in compensation for all damages incurred.
