Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) has announced that it has received a donation of over Dhs3 million from Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) for the Prophet’s Neighbours Endowment project.
This makes SEWA the first leading entity in the Emirate of Sharjah to contribute to this unique endowment project.
The donation reflects the institutional response to the call of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote competition in charitable endeavors.
The SSEF believes this donation represents the first good seed in the project’s journey toward achieving its noble humanitarian goals.
The endowment is a pioneering project that aims to build an integrated support system for orphans, enhancing their integration into society and opening up broader prospects for growth and self-reliance.
“We express our deep gratitude and appreciation to SEWA for this generous donation, which is the first institutional endowment contribution we have received under the 'Prophet’s Neighbours Endowment' project, said Mona Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of SSEF.
This initiative is not merely financial support; rather, it is a noble humanitarian message that reflects SEWA’s unwavering commitment to its societal role and embodies the true meanings of solidarity and institutional giving, she added.
“We are honoured that SEWA is among the leading entities to respond to Sheikh Sultan’s call and to contribute to advancing this blessed project toward achieving its goals of empowering our orphans and ensuring sustainable support for them,” she said.
“We hope that this inspiring initiative will be the launching pad for a broader humanitarian community movement, with more entities and institutions joining in support of this endowment, which bears a name that is dear to all our hearts and represents the honour of being neighbors to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by serving and caring for the bereaved,” she added.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Abdulrahman Al Shamsi, Director General of SEWA, stated that SEWA’s contribution to this initiative for the orphans of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation comes in compliance with Sheikh Sultan’s noble directives.
It comes as part of SEWA’s plan to fulfill its social responsibilities by supporting this segment of society and providing them with the necessary care to help them build a bright and stable future, he said.
Al Shamsi extended his deepest gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh Sultan for his generous initiative to launch this noble humanitarian endowment, which embodies his wise vision of building a cohesive and interconnected society that instills hope in the hearts of orphans and provides them with the support they need to achieve their dreams and ambitions.
He expressed his hope that this initiative would contribute to strengthening the endowment’s capacity to expand the scope of services it provides to orphans, including education, care, and psychological and social support.
He called on all institutions and individuals to contribute to this blessed endowment project, enabling it to remain a constant source of goodness and generosity and contribute to changing the lives of orphans toward a promising future filled with hope.
