Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed appreciation for the efforts of the UAE and its leadership to help resolve the Ukrainian crisis. He praised the UAE’s continued role in fostering dialogue between Moscow and Kyiv, as well as its contributions to addressing humanitarian issues, including prisoner exchanges.
Negotiations in Abu Dhabi
During a meeting with Russian officials, Putin said trilateral negotiations on the Ukrainian crisis are scheduled to begin next Tuesday in the UAE. He thanked the country’s leadership for hosting the talks and supporting efforts to resolve the conflict.
The UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts
Putin stressed that the UAE continues to assist Russia in seeking solutions to the crisis while helping address humanitarian matters, particularly prisoner exchanges. He described these contributions as an important part of the UAE’s broader efforts to facilitate communication between the parties.
His remarks come ahead of a new round of trilateral negotiations involving Russia, Ukraine, and the United States in Abu Dhabi. The talks are part of ongoing efforts to reach a settlement and end the war between Russia and Ukraine, which began in February 2022.
