There is a lot going on in Hollywood just now with the strikes and whatnot, however, that has not stopped the good movies from coming. This week we take a look at some of the most interesting and exciting films that will come out over the next few months.

The movie “Priscilla,” directed by Sofia Coppola, tells the real-life tale of the ex-wife of Elvis Presley, Priscilla Presley. Playing Elvis and Priscilla are up-and-coming stars Jacob Elordi and Cailee Spaeny. The movie has been doing well on the film festival circuit with good reviews from critics already and Spaeny winning the best actress award at the Venice Film Festival.

Timothée Chalamet takes a stab at playing Willy Wonka in the new movie, “Wonka.” Based around the 1964 book by Roald Dahl, “Wonka” focuses on the life of a young Willy Wonka and how he became a famous, albeit eccentric, chocolate seller. Chalamet has big shoes to fill as the character was originally played by the brilliant Gene Wilder in 1971, and then Johnny Depp in 2005. The cast also includes Olivia Colman, Sally Hawkins, Keegan-Michael Key and Hugh Grant, who plays an Oompa-Loompa.

Another movie that looks interesting and has been making noise at the film festivals is “Poor Things,” directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. The comedy fantasy film stars Emma Stone as a young Victorian woman brought back to life by a scientist played by Willem Dafoe. The movie is based on the 1992 novel of the same name by writer Alasdair Gray.
