It’s so sad that the Nepal earthquake death toll crossed more than 157 and rescue teams are struggling to find survivors. It’s time the world should help Nepali brothers and sisters in their difficult time (“Rescuers struggle to find Nepal quake survivors as deaths reach 157,” Nov.5, Gulf Today website).
According to the report, rescue workers in Nepal began digging through the rubble of collapsed houses with their bare hands on Saturday, searching for survivors after the country’s worst earthquake in eight years killed 157 people and shook buildings as far away as New Delhi. In a statement carried by Reuters, Nepal’s National Seismological Centre said the quake struck the Jajarkot region in the west of the Himalayan nation at 23:47 GMT on Friday with a 6.4 magnitude. The German Research Centre for Geosciences measured it at 5.7 and the US Geological Survey at 5.6.
It’s a huge human tragedy in Nepal. I am sure that the world will play its vital role in helping needy people in Nepal and provide financial aid to the brothers and sisters in Nepal so they can build their houses and start a normal life.
