Like most things in life, an actor’s career is full of highs and lows, no matter how famous they are. This week we are taking a look at some actors whose careers have been pulled back from the brink, all thanks to one particular film.

Reese Witherspoon’s career took off with her performance as the popular character Elle Woods in the “Legally Blonde” films. She won an Academy Award for her role in the 2005 movie “Walk the Line,” and all this while she was still in her twenties. After this she starred in a number of unsuccessful films and it looked like her career might be over until 2014 and the movie “Wild.” Since that film, her career has skyrocketed and she firmly cemented herself in the world of A-listers.

Winona Ryder was a huge star in the 90s, well known for her choice of quirky roles in a string of very popular films including “Edward Scissorhands” and “The Age of Innocence.” However, after a strange shoplifting incident in 2001, her career nose-dived. She stayed out of the spotlight for a number of years and this move seemed to work as she went on to act again with success. Ryder has been starring in “Stranger Things” since 2016, but it was her role in “Black Swan” which really helped turn things around.

In other news this week, turn to our Fitness pages to read about how only 22 minutes of exercise can be effective at getting you fit. Apparently 22 minutes is all it takes to offset all the negative side effects of sitting for most of the day.
