The Pakistan cricket team are in Australia and started their first Test on Thursday. Hosts Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. At the end of day in the first innings Aussies were 487. Now it is time for Pakistani batters to show their temperament and class.

I watched the full innings on day 1 and I liked the contest. A very young Pakistani team did very well.

I liked the captaincy of new skipper Shan Masood. He has impressed with his presence. The way he shuffled his bowlers shows this young man has the potential to do the best as he goes ahead. I am also impressed with Aamer Jamal’s bowling. He got 6 wickets. I am sure with more match experience he will improve.

But I was sad to hear people bashing the Pakistani team for allowing the Aussies to make a mammoth total. We should never forget that playing in Australia against Australia is not a joke. They are the best team across all formats. So talking about Pakistani performance is not encouraging.

We should have the heart to support our young team. Always bashing our team is not a good idea. Give them a little time.
