It is in everybody’s self-interest, to rein in Ukraine and Russia and help them to negotiate. Fanning their misunderstandings and battles, will be self-defeating for everyone.

Ukraine has been pressurising the USA and its Western allies for long-range missiles, to be deployed to attack Russia, deep in the latter’s territory. Hitherto, the USA had supplied weapons to Ukraine, only to be used to counter the invasion and not for attacks in Russian territories.

President Zelenskky thinks this tactic, will pressurise President Putin to end the war quickly. This is shallow thinking. President Putin is likely to fight back hard. He will be displeased with the ganging up of all the Western allies against Russia.

The fear is that some nation may deploy a nuclear weapon carelessly and engulf all nations in the third World War. A World war with nuclear weapons would be catastrophic. It would be the end of the world and the human race as we know it. There could be no survivors. The world could become a flaming funeral pyre. We should not be cavalier about the dangers of a world war, with nuclear weapons.
