When it comes to the superstars of the music and acting world, sometimes a crossover takes place when a superstar or two venture over to another field. This week we are taking a look at a group of very successful singers who tried their hand at acting and failed quite miserably.

Rihanna is one of the biggest and best musicians of all time producing hit album after hit album since 2005.

One wonders what would make Rihanna want to try acting, maybe she was a little bored of singing? Back in 2012 she made her movie debut with “Battleship” alongside Liam Neeson and Brooklyn Decker. The reviews for Rihanna’s performance were terrible and she even won a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress.

Another super successful singer is The Weeknd who has been impressing critics and winning awards for his soulful songs for a while now. It makes no sense that he would go on to star in a weird TV series titled “The Idol” alongside Lily Depp. But that is what he did and neither the critics nor the fans spared him from negative comments. In spite of the huge hype before its release, the show did not do well at all.
