Sing it out

We are in the last month of 2024, who can believe it? This year seems to have flown by extra fast. It is time to look back over the last few months and reflect on the good, the bad and everything in between. This week we are looking at some of the best songs to have come out in 2024.

Addison Rae found fame on TikTok miming to songs. Therefore, it may be surprising to know that she is on our list for best songs of the year. “Aquamarine” is Rae’s second single which came out back in October. Like her first song, critics and fans seemed to love it as with some describing it as very similar to 90s hit music. Singer Charli XCX called Rae a “musical genius.”

Speaking of Charli XCX, she is also on our list for her song “Girl, so confusing featuring Lorde.” The song is off her sixth studio album “Brat” and like the title says, it does feature Lorde. The song has a deeper meaning which discusses the complexity of female friendships and the issues which go along with them. Music critics loved this track and praised its lyrics and themes.
