One of my close associates discussed challenges one faces living abroad as a ‘bachelor’ and looking after his family back home especially when children are school-going.
He said: “I spoke to home today and came to know that my son has missed the last paper. Despite preparing till late night for the next morning’s paper, he failed to appear in the school on Friday, which was on Dec.20, due to being unable to wake up in the morning on time. So, the same day, I wrote a text message to Muhammad Hasham’s studies WhatsApp group. “Maybe my text annoys you, but I want to express my grievances as I remained sad the whole day.
“There is no doubt that Hasham is a responsible and an intelligent student. He has grown up and is approaching his 17 years, Mashallah.
“For Friday’s episode, dated Dec.20, I will not blame Sir Muhammad Saqib (Hasham’s tuition teacher), because he gave Hasham extra time and did more than 100 per cent. I hope Hasham realises soon that the coming few years are so important for his social, spiritual and professional life. I hope he will make sure he will not miss school exams in the future.
“I will do my sacred duties looking after my children, will try my level best to guide them on the right path of life as a Muslim, because I am answerable in front of Almighty Allah that he will one day ask me that what I did with the precious gems he has rewarded me in my life.”
