A magnitude 6.8 earthquake that rocked the northern foothills of the Himalayas near one of Tibet’s holiest cities, killing at least 53 people, is shocking and sad news (“Powerful Tibet earthquake, near Nepal, kills at least 53,” Jan.7, Gulf Today website). Although science has achieved rocket success in this modern world, it still failed to predict natural disasters, earthquakes and tsunamis.
It’s really shocking that a powerful earthquake has shaken buildings in neighbouring Nepal, Bhutan and India.
