Memorable day!

India celebrated its 76th Republic Day on Sunday. On this day, in 1950, India implemented the Constitution which has become the backbone of the country. That’s the reason India is marching ahead day by day for a better tomorrow after a solid foundation laid by our our leaders. I have been living in the UAE for almost two decades and on every Republic Day and Independence Day, I make sure to visit the Indian Consulate in Dubai to take part in the flag-hoisting ceremony. This year also I reached the Consulate at 6.30am, to witness the flag-hoisting ceremony at 7.10.

It was amazing to be there. Patriotic songs and music had completely changed the environment and reminded me of my childhood. It made me nostalgic as well. It was great to see many young children dressed in Indian attire, attending the early morning event. They were carrying Indian flags and were enjoying the ceremony with their parents. It was an amazing sight to behold. I too always make sure to take my children to understand the values of India. This is how our children can be rooted in their motherland by being away from India and can value freedom and success.
