Depressing episode

It was sad to see over a hundred Indians repatriated back home, in handcuffs and shackles. They did not have relevant legal papers to stay and work in America. I am sad that Indians cannot find adequate work opportunities within the country. India is a large country and the fifth largest economy in the world. Yet, many people have to go abroad to make a living.

India needs to expand employment opportunities within the country. Many sectors of the economy like construction, road-building, Information Technology, modern agriculture, distribution and logistics, poultry farming, animal husbandry, etc., have immense potential for employment generation. We should expand these industries.

Some time ago, the Indian PM had said that India is the youth factory of the world. True. However, India must also find avenues to absorb these youngsters in gainful employment within the country. Then, they will have gainful lives at home and will not want to go abroad illicitly.
