The world is changing on a fast track. The first telephonic conversation between the President of the United States of America Donald Trump with Russian President Vladimir Putin agreeing on Ukraine “peace negotiations,” is the biggest news that the world was waiting anxiously for (“Putin tells Trump ‘peace negotiations’ on Ukraine possible in first call,” Feb.13, Gulf Today website).
According to the report, Russian President Vladimir Putin told his US counterpart Donald Trump in a lengthy phone call on Wednesday that “peace negotiations” on ending the Ukraine conflict were possible, the Kremlin said. The conversation marks the first confirmation by Moscow of contact between the two leaders since Trump came to office last month, and comes as the Republican pushes for an end to the nearly three years of fighting. “President Putin... agreed with Trump that a long-term settlement could be reached through peace negotiations,” Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in his readout of the call, which he said lasted almost one-and-a-half hours.
During the US election campaign, President Trump promised his voters and supporters that he will immediately play a vital role in bringing about the end to the Gaza conflict.
With his role in the Gaza war, President Donald Trump is highly optimistic of stopping the Ukraine war through meaningful dialogue.
