This is an exciting week for Formula One fans around the world as the much-awaited 2025 season begins in Australia with the first Grand Prix being held at the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit. This week we are taking a close look at the six newcomers to the track.
British teenager Ollie Bearman caught the attention of racing fans last season when he made his Formula One debut at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The 19-year-old ended up replacing racer Carlos Sainz Jr. who had to withdraw for medical reasons. Bearman ended up finishing seventh in the race making him the youngest-ever driver to compete for Ferrari and also the youngest driver to score points on a debut for Formula One. This season he is racing for Haas and there is no doubt that all eyes will be on him in Melbourne.
We all know that Mercedes is missing Lewis Hamilton this season as he has moved on to Ferrari. It has long been questioned who would be filling his extremely hard to fill boots. The answer is the 18-year-old Italian Kimi Antonelli. He has been winning his way through the motorsport ranks since he was a young boy winning the European Karting Championship in 2020 and 2021. It will be interesting to watch how he handles the F1 track and especially after taking the place of seven-time world champion Hamilton.
