From all the film genres out there, the good old-fashioned romantic comedy has got to be a favourite with so many of us. Full of love and laughter a good rom-com is guaranteed to put a smile on most faces. This week we are taking a look at some of the best rom-coms out there.
“Love Actually” came out back in 2003 but it remains just as popular today as it did when it was released. The romantic comedy directed by Richard Curtis has an all-star cast that includes Keira Knightley, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson and Liam Nesson. The film tells the tale of eight couples and the ups and downs of their relationships. This film will forever remain a favourite of mine, no matter how many times I’ve seen it.
Julia Roberts has long been considered a queen of rom-coms and “Notting Hill” is one of many she has starred in. The film was released in 1999 with Roberts as the female lead and Hugh Grant as the male lead. Roberts plays an American actress whose life intertwines with a simple English bookstore owner. Again, this movie is a classic and never fails to entertain.

Researchers claim that it comes down to the fact that digital interactions are not as good for us as face-to-face interactions which have more quality.
