When it comes to movies, timing is everything and for an actor that can mean missing out on role. This week we are taking a look at a few actors who, for various reasons, missed out on particularly famous roles.
With two Academy Awards under her belt as well as several other big wins, Emma Stone is one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood at the moment. It might come as a surprise to know that she auditioned for “Alice in Wonderland” but did not get the part. Director Tim Burton ended up choosing Mia Wasikowska to star in the lead role and it worked out well.
“Titanic” is one of the most famous movies to have ever been made. The film catapulted its lead actors, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winsle, to global success virtually overnight. It is hard to imagine the film without DiCaprio as the lead but apparently the role could have gone to Matthew McConaughey. He claims that he was elated with how the audition went but he never got a call back.
In other news this week, turn to our Fitness pages to read about how a weekend workout can be just as effective as working out during the week. Many of us have extremely busy work weeks and find it difficult to make time to go to the gym. According to a new study, people who work out at the weekend can be just as healthy as people who work out during the week. This is very encouraging for people who struggle to fit in exercise while working.
