The UAE Ministry of Interior urged motorists to exercise caution in the streets and abide by the traffic laws.
During its virtual meeting, the Executive Committee of the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team in Sharjah reviewed its preparations to contain the expected depression in Sharjah and its affiliated cities.
The lowest temperature of 8.6˚C was recorded on Friday in Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 6:30am UAE local time. The temperature was 10.3˚C in Jebel Al Mebrah.
Measures have been taken, including dispatching traffic patrols and coordinating with partners to ensure traffic safety.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said in a statement that the weather on Friday would be moderate to partly cloudy and dusty at times during daytime, with a probability of some cumulus clouds to form eastward and a light rain by the afternoon. The temperatures are also expected to decrease gradually in the country, the NCM added.
The UAE will witness some cumulus clouds accompanied by rain on separate areas of the country between Saturday and Tuesday, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The amendments include the addition of articles prohibiting gatherings near valleys flowing with rainwater and dams during rainfall, as well as entering valleys regardless of the level of danger.
The NCM called on the public to take caution during the heavy rainfall and strong winds on some eastern and northern area, which would led to lower horizontal visibility, and to stay away from flooded areas.
