Since 2008, MOSAIKON has trained over 200 individuals in mosaic conservation from countries of the southern and eastern Mediterranean region.
Alagroobi begins each painting by selecting a range of pigments that convey her emotions and imagination, and then starts the laborious process of applying up to a hundred layers of paint onto canvas or wood.
The 4-day art extravaganza aligns its purpose with that of International Women’s Day, thus centering its intentions on providing optimal representation for women in the art sector.
After a decade of running her own design firm in America and travelling to the Middle East, she moved to Syria in 2008 where she spent three years researching Ancient Ornamentation and Islamic Geometric design.
“I’m really excited to be part of Project Art, an initiative that has seen a range of amazing artists present their work,” said Sabz, who has participated in several exhibitions as well as in World Art Dubai 2022.
She is a Pakistani national, based in Dubai. An award winner and self-taught artist, her work is a reflection of her understanding of the universe and the constant changes and transformation that takes place within and around us.
