As part of the understanding, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidates for the by-polls in NA-75 Daska (Sialkot) and PP-51 Wazirabad (Gujranwala) have withdrawn their nomination papers in favour of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) nominees in both the constituencies.
In a major boost, PTI's candidate Mahmood Moulvi having secured 29,475 votes against the MQM-P nominee Moid Anwar, who bagged 16,282 votes.
“In the by-elections of 9 National Assembly constituencies to be held on Sept.25, Imran himself will contest from all the seats,” the PTI announced on its official Twitter handle.
The by-election is the latest twist in political wrangling that began after Khan's April 10 ouster via a parliamentary no-confidence vote.
