The prime crew continued their preflight preparations at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The main crew include Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Skripochka (commander), NASA astronaut Jessica Meir (flight engineer) and space flight participant Hazzaa Al Mansouri (UAE).
In less than 90 hours, Emirati astronaut Hazzaa Al Mansoori takes off for the International Space Station, much to the cheer of a new spacefaring nation, UAE.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre in collaboration with National Geographic channel would release the first long film documenting the UAE’s extraordinary journey into space.
The video clip posted on Twitter with the caption, “During the weekends, we sometimes spend our time playing games. It is one of our favourite activities to do together 🙌🏽
Al Neyadi commented, "I took this picture with a 400 mm lens camera of a plane flying in the skies of Iraq while we were passing over it. Commercial planes usually fly at an altitude of about 10 km above the surface of the earth, while the height of the International Space Station exceeds this number by 40 times."
Al Neyadi conducted 200 experiments and scientific studies in cooperation with 5 international space agencies, and 19 experiments of Emirati universities, in the fields of evaluating the effect of microgravity on the interaction between the heart and body position.
Expressing his thoughts to Al Neyadi, Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said, "We are incredibly proud of you, Sultan. Your accomplishments have ignited a beacon of inspiration for our younger generations."
