Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, attended a meeting of the Higher Committee overseeing preparations for the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP28),
Dr Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, COP28 President-Designate, and UAE Governor of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB); and Jin Liqun, President of AIIB, signed the Host Member Agreement for establishing the AIIB’s Interim Operational Hub in the UAE on the Abu Dhabi Global Market, AIIB’s first overseas office.
Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, has led a delegation of UAE government officials and business leaders to South Africa to enhance trade and investment opportunities between the two countries, and promote development in key sectors such as logistics, food production, tourism and energy.
The invitation was delivered to Prime Minister Rutte by Jamal Al Musharakh, UAE Ambassador to the Netherlands.

This meeting marked a significant milestone for youth involvement in COP28, as key stakeholders in the UAE's youth and climate space came together to collaborate with the delegates and engage them in activities leading up to COP28.
The meeting touched on the COP28 climate conference, which will be hosted by the UAE later this year, in light of the joint coordination between the two countries in the UN Security Council on strengthening the international response to the threat of climate change.
