Dubai Sports Council (DSC) have issued a list of guidelines for the return of sports activities in the emirate.
The Government of Dubai has issued a 15-point advisory through the DSC that will allow the return of sports activities to the emirate through the re-opening of sports facilities.
The list of requirements has been vetted by the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management and the necessary precautionary measures in place for the protection of those re-starting sports activities in Dubai.
Sports establishments will be permitted to reopen on Wednesday, as per the easing of restrictions on personal movement.
All the football, basketball, badminton, tennis academies, gymnasiums and fitness centres will be able to operate “at a maximum of 50 per cent of the facility’s normal capacity” and the added criteria of other normal protocols in place including social distancing, masks and use of sanitisers.
“Sports facilities and all tools, equipment, and means of transportation shall be sanitised through a certificate issued by a sterilisation company approved by the Dubai Municipality,” the Dubai Sports Council announced.
“A permanent sanitisation programme shall be put in place, and sanitisers shall be provided in the necessary areas in the establishment.
“A physical distance of at least two meters must be maintained, and separators/partitions shall be installed between sports equipment, if the nature of the sports activity requires it, to ensure protection of people.”
