The 26th staging of the Dubai Duty Free UAE Nationals Cup attracted a strong field of players from all age ranges and it was Rashid Al Jassmy who emerged as the overall champion on a countback of 36 stableford points at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club.
The format for the day was a Gross and Individual Stableford, with prizes being awarded to the Overall Stableford Winner, Gross Winner, Ladies Winner and On-Course Special Event.
The tournament was tightly contested with Rayyan Al Maazmi emerged as the 1st runner up with 35 points narrowly edging out Sultan Al Ali on a countback with 34 points to win as the 2nd runner up.
The ladies winner was Reema Al Heloo with 36 points, while the Gross Winner on the day was Ali Babtani, shooting a brilliant 77 gross.
Commenting on the UAE Nationals Cup, Salah Tahlak. Executive Vice President – Corporate Services of Dubai Duty Free said: "The tournament has grown popular among UAE nationals since 1995 including junior Emirati golfers. Congratulations to all the winners and special thanks to all our participants and to the Arabian Ranches Golf Club for their efforts in ensuring a great day was had by all.”
The on-course prizes were won by Rashid Al Jassmy for the Men’s Nearest the Pin, while Rayyan Al Maazmi won the Men’s Longest Drive. Winning the Ladies Nearest the Pin was Alia Al Emadi, with Reema Al Heloo wining the Ladies Longest Drive.
The tournament was a great success, with Dubai Duty Free continuing their support for all sports and golf in the region.
At the prize presentation, Tahlak was joined by Emirates Golf Federation Vice Chairman, Adel Zarouni.
