Following weeks of qualifiers across the Emirates, the Red Bull Half Court UAE final will bring together the best streetballers to compete at Satwa Park, Dubai on June 3 with a place in the global finals at stake.
Dubai Sports Council has announced the launch of the 5th edition of “Dubai Open Basketball Academies Championship” which will be held from October 28 to March 10, 2024.
In what could have been a flawless performance, Aisha Jasim Al Ali was right on target to nail the gold medal in the recurve (Women 16+) category of the competition. She scored 274 out of 300 points to take the spot on the podium.
The Championship, which starts on Nov. 27, has attracted 48 teams, both boys and girls, and 720 players representing these teams will play 143 matches in six different age categories until the finale in April.
The championship attracted huge crowds, with numerous schools and universities in Fujairah sending spectators to witness the game's stars compete amidst a fantastic atmosphere.
The championship represents a cornerstone in the foundation's efforts to enhance the sporting landscape within the vibrant Emirate, targeting key aspects of modernisation and developmental projects.
'It was for the first time that I watched a live match played by visually challenged players and their talent has really impressed me a lot. Dubai is a hub for trade, sports and diplomacy that provides an ideal environment for such type of healthy and positive activities,” said Hussain.
