The Binous Classic Championship will be held at the Binous Gym in Al Quoz, Dubai, attracting top athletes from across the world.
Speaking to the media, Sheikh Abdullah praised Binous Gym’s initiative to organise the championship in different categories, pointing out that the previous joint cooperation between the sports clubs and the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation had achieved many gains in various technical and development aspects and was a reason for the selection of players and their inclusion in the national team.
“It also helped with the development of referees in bodybuilding and various sports, and it was a factor in the selection of players for the national team.
“We know Anis Binous for a long time, and it’s a wonderful initiative. He enjoys full support from the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation,” Sheikh Abdullah added.
Mohammed Abdul Rahim Al Marri, Secretary General of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, said: The championship will include arm wrestling, bodybuilding, men’s physique, and fitness challenge in addition to boxing and kickboxing.”
He claimed that the Binous Gym’s cutting-edge facilities and its management’s access to a wealth of sporting knowledge encouraged the organisation of the championship.
“The Federation’s committees will be happy to give the competition their full support,” he added.
Hailing the support of the Dubai Sports Council and Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Binous, tournament director, expressed his delight over hosting the event.
He noted that the total cost of hosting the Binous Classic Championship is Dhs120,0000, which makes it the most expensive local championship in the nation.
Binous promised that the organising committee will make every effort to assure both the public’s attendance and the players’ illustrious participation. Ahmed Mohammed Abdulla Jowhar, member of the federation’s board of directors and chairman of the national teams committee, stated that the competition will be the perfect opportunity for the national team’s technical staff to identify new talented players and recruit them into the squad in order to participate in the upcoming Asian and World Championships as well as other competitions.
He stressed that the value of the prize money, the extraordinary infrastructure, and the active engagement of the top participating champions will lead to a distinguished competitive version.
