A person clad in a 'Stop bombing Palestine' T-shirt invaded the playing area at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad during the World Cup final between India and Australia on Sunday.
The individual, attired in red shorts, sported a white T-shirt bearing the message 'Stop bombing Palestine' on the front and 'Free Palestine' on the back.
The man attempted to hug India’s star batsman Virat Kohli, after making his way into the field of play, but his actions led to a temporary halt in the game as security personnel swiftly apprehended him. The security breach prompted the authorities to take the intruder into custody.
Following the removal of the pitch invader, the necessary security measures were reinforced, allowing the resumption of the World Cup final.
