Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), and the follow-up of Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of EAHS, the Helvetia Riding Centre in Indaiatuba, near the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, hosted the 7th Show of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup for the 2024 season.
The first show of the EAHGC to be held in South America was met with a warm welcome from owners, breeders, and Arabian horse enthusiasts who turned out in large numbers to show their support as some of the best horses came face to face and competed for different studs especially around Sao Paulo, a city known for its large presence of Arabian horses.
Abdullah Shaheen, Consul-General of the UAE in Sao Paulo, attended the competitions and crowned winners. In the Junior Fillies Championship, Rica Rica Johnny won the golden medal for Boituva Stud ahead of Aria Dhalia the silver winner for Santa Marta Stud — Jaguariuna, while Robin STC landed the bronze medal for Aratinga Stud — Araras.
The Junior Colts Championship saw a heated competition between horses with Patrick Rec being crowned with the gold for Brown River Stud– Sao Jose Rio Pardo, as the silver belonged to Destiny Hec owned by Estancia California Stud — Tatui, and Ibn Image Wn managed to bring home the bronze for Piracuama Stud — Cacapava.
The action continued with the Senior Mares Championship which was dominated by Artemis Heo for El Olimpo Stud — Uruguai, finishing ahead of Queen Elsa Fwm who won the silver medal for Lone Star Stud — Silvianopolis, leaving the bronze medal for Hanna 7F for owners El Sevillano Stud — Atibaia.
Finally, the Senior Stallions Championship gold medal was won by Ragnary Gv for Viana Arabian Horse Stud — Artur Nogueira, and Virtus Hec finished in second place to land the silver medal, which was the second medal of the night for Estancia California Stud — Tatui.
Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi said, “We are extremely proud of the continuous successes of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup (2024 season) in its first edition, which comes as an embodiment of the sound vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), and the follow-up of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of EAHGC.”
Al Harbi went on to add that the first championship to be held in South America was considered a success by all standards, as it was a part of a huge festival celebrating Arabian horses in Brazil, with this event focusing on reaching out to owners and breeders all over the world.
Al Harbi also expressed his satisfaction with the organisation and how well put together all the shows of the cup have been so far, stating that the Brazilian show took place in an important region for Arabian horses who have been present there for many years. “We are proud to support Arabian horse owners and breeders as that is one of our main goals with the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup,” he concluded.
