The American University of Sharjah's men's team won first place in the powerlifting championship, while Zayed University's women's team claimed first place.
The championship was organized by the American University of Sharjah in collaboration with the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
The University of Birmingham in Dubai finished second in the men's category, while the University of Emirates secured third place.
In the women's category, the University of Sharjah took second place, and the University of Emirates came third.
A total of 93 male and female athletes from 16 universities participated in the championship.
Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, presented the awards to the winners in the presence of Salma Al-Busaidi, Director of Sports and Recreational Activities at the American University of Sharjah, federation board Member Faisal Ghais Al-Zaabi, Technical Secretary Abdel Majid Yezbek, Championship Manager Salem Hassan, and other officials.
The competition showcased outstanding technical performances, reflecting the continuous development of the sport of powerlifting. Sheikh Abdullah expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the university for its continuous support of sports in general and powerlifting in particular, which has contributed to the remarkable progress of the sport. He commended the efforts made to discover new talents and praised the organizing committee for their efforts.
Mohammed Tarek from Ajman University was named the best male player, while Lana Arabi from the American University of Sharjah was selected as the best female player. Championship Manager Salem Hassan was recognized as the best coach, and the American University of Sharjah's team won the title of "Ideal Team."
Faisal Al-Ghais Al-Zaabi, a member of the Federation's Board of Directors and World Champion, praised the high level of competition and the excellent organization of the event. He noted that the Bodybuilding and Powerlifting Committee of the Federation closely monitors university activities in powerlifting and appreciates the ongoing efforts to promote a culture of sports practice at the university level. He also thanked the judging panel, led by Ibrahim Al-Ali, and international referees Saeed Al-Mas, Badr Nasser, Mohamed Shehabi, and referee Ibtisam Shaheel for their exceptional work, ensuring the event's success.
